Designed as a site-specific piece, Fort Gorges was premiered on the island in Casco Bay, Maine. Inspired by Lyda, who was born and raised in the isolated mid-19th-century fortress, the piece explores the haunting sounds of the physical structure–striking walls, floors, bricks and granite.
